Why a Private Investigator Can Be a Lawyer’s Secret Weapon

I am always being asked about what my job consists of, and what kind of things I do each day. One of the areas in which our company works is providing litigation support. We work with firms that have several attorneys and paralegals, and we work with attorneys that have single-person practices. While I may be biased, I do believe that we are incredibly useful in both scenarios. Because we are a small, privately owned firm we are able to adjust to the needs of our clients, and we don’t mind tackling a variety of tasks. Let me tell you why I think a private investigator can be a...

Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day. I am sometimes surprised how many different meanings this holiday has for people. Children, teens, and adults all can see Valentine’s Day as a way to recognize someone about whom they care. Young children give cards to classmates, while teens will give a gift as a token of interest or affection. For many couples, it has become an expectation, and woe to the husband that ignores the holiday. But for the...

The Drawbacks of Being a Private Investigator

There are many things I like about being a professional private investigator. I like solving mysteries, putting the puzzle pieces together, helping people when they have a real need in their life, the thrill of finding THE answer, meeting new people, working with other professionals, learning new things… the list goes on. However, there are also drawbacks of being a private investigator. One of the biggest problems that just about every private investigator I know encounters is the perception that we can and will do anything to “get the job done.” I always try to explain to...

Photography and the PI

Photography and the PI

A picture is worth a thousand words. It’s a saying I’ve heard all of my life, and related to for almost as long. As we now find ourselves clearly entrenched in the digital image age, I wonder if the traditional, dedicated camera is on it’s last legs. So exactly what does this mean for photography and the PI? I was a photography buff as a teenager. My first “save up my allowance and odd job money” purchase was a Canon AE-1 SLR. Before that, I used a Kodak Instamatic camera. I had an eye for framing a picture. I saw art in places that others just passed by without...
